Back when we were teenagers with dreams/empty pockets, MTV would regularly play Babybird’s ‘Because you’re Gorgeous’. That tune burrowed in our subconscious for nearly two decades and I have kept that dusty tape and subsequent CDs handy, the sound still fresh sounding as it did back then. Longing for a Babybird vinyl I ordered Photosynthesis and the album just blows me away every time! Could this be a masterpiece for a long time? I think so!

This album is much closer to the Nineties Babybird we all know but with a lot of creativity into the track list and while ‘King of Nothing’ is probably the track you have heard many times over, there are some unsettling tracks in here like ‘I am not here’. ‘In place of Love’ tugs at your emotions and there is a tinge of self loathing here but it is an emotion and this is an emotional album! What a trip this album is! Thanks for sharing your view of the world, it is mesmerising!
